IPL 2018 is going to start in a few days i.e. on 7th of April at Wankhade stadium with IPL 2017 title holder Mumbai Indians and the returning Chennai Superkings. Opening ceremony also will be held on the same day at Wankhade.
Poll moved to archives as the match has already played. Out of the total voted polled, Mumbai Indians got 63.7 % votes whereas Chennai Superkings got only 37.3% of votes. Fan base slightly inclined towards MI as the match is scheduled to play at Mumbai Indians home ground, Wankhade stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Superkings matches always fetches good meal of entertainment for fans. They have taken on each other 25 times till now in IPL tournament. Out of these 25 matches head-to-head matches, Mumbai Indians won 13 matches whereas its counterpart CSK has won 12 matches. This statistics itself shows how the competition would be. These two teams are considered as the toughest teams in IPL.
In the opening match, between these two teams, we got slightly different result than what the polls conveyed. Finally it end up with a thriller and CSK won the match by 1 wicket.
Mumbai Indians failed to post a good total on scorecard, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. As expected, Mumbai Indians captain Rohith Sharma opened the innings along with Evin Lewis. But they failed to give a good partnership on top the order. Rohit Sharma took more time to settle down but finally got out for 15 runs off 18 balls with 83.33 strike rate. Evin Lewis also got out for a duck in the opening match. After that we have seen some great performances from Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar and Krunal Pandya.
They had lot of expectations on all-rounder Hardhik Pandya but eventually he also took time to settle down result in scoring 20 runs at each run per ball strike rate. Surprisingly Keiren Pollard didn’t get chance to bat in this innings. Mumbai Indians posted 165 runs for 4 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
It sounded like easy win for Chennai in the beginning an they got good opening partnership between Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu as well. But later wicket fallen down at regular intervals. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni also didn’t score 2 digit scores. When the required run rate is high, Bravo scored quick runs with massive sixes and saved the match from going out of their hands. 10 runs needed off the last over and Kedar Jadav finishes off the things with six and followed by a boundary.
